CSR

At Kirstein we believe that we have a social responsibility to our community, and we want to contribute to the world around us

We have always been dedicated to educational matters as our company is fully based on knowledge. Our business is driven by our employees’ knowledge which, of course, is rooted in their education, and that is precisely why we want to help improve the education of others. We also consider it our responsibility to help children and young adults who do not have the same educational opportunities as we did. That is why we have chosen to support Mtoto Tanzania – a non-profit Danish organisation that funds the daily operations of an orphanage and supports the children’s education.

Mtoto Tanzania seeks to improve the lives of disadvantaged children in Tanzania. They provide care and attention in the orphanages that they have built with the prospect of better living standards, the opportunity to go to school and to get an education and a brighter future. Mtoto offers the children both educational and mentoring programmes that give them the opportunity to attend school and improve their personal development. The projects are situated around Arusha in northern Tanzania, in cooperation with the local community that helps run the daily operations.

UN Global Compact

Since 2020 Kirstein has been committed to the UN Global Compact corporate responsibility initiative and its principles in the areas of human rights, labour, the environment, and anti-corruption.

Kirstein are in the process of integrating the 10 principles, which we will be reporting once every year as a signatory of the UN Global Compact Denmark, to secure that our business takes the necessary steps towards corporate responsibility. Our goal is to base our corporate culture on integrity. The 10 principles are a framework that we have chosen to implement when conducting our business, to achieve this.

Kirstein encourage other business to take CSR -initiatives where applicable, to support a responsible future socially as well as environmentally.

Responsible Investments

Kirstein is a signatory of the Principles for Responsible Investments – PRI because we want to contribute to the developing of a more sustainable global financial system.

Environmental, social and governance issues can affect the performance of investment portfolios and we recognize that applying the 6 principles, as described by the PRI Association, may better align investors with broader objectives of society.

Our signature is a voluntarily and aspirational commitment, and we report publicly on our responsible investment activities each year.
